McGrath studied Art Studio at the University of California, Davis, and continued his education at Pratt Institute, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and the Art Students League of New York. Raised in a home built by his father, an architect and builder, he was exposed from an early age to architectural drawings and blueprints, an influence that continues to shape the structural language of his work.
His solo exhibitions include Measures of Order at The Yard Gowanus (2023), Ctrl Z at 55 Water Street (2022), and Ordered Chaos and Control & Chaos in Brooklyn and Manhattan’s Lower East Side. McGrath’s work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions throughout New York, including at Lichtundfire and Van Der Plas Gallery, and he has participated in artist residencies such as ChaNorth in upstate New York.
