[2019-2021. Greenpoint Studio: Brooklyn, NY]
“Control & Chaos” invites viewers to experience the tension and blending of spontaneity and restraint as angular, exact geometries and gradients weave and collide with sporadic brushwork and spontaneous graphite lines. Exploring how these forces occupy a shared space, geometric symbols of control are placed intuitively as the composition unfolds with similar unplanned, spirited lines and brush strokes. Inspired by the order-chaos dichotomy found in philosophy, religion, and physics, each canvas is a debate between these contradicting forces and reflects on their coexistence and balance in our lives.
Installed for show at 23 Orchard New York in April of 2021.
